Hello. My name is Caitlin Lee and I am a junior at Geffen Academy at UCLA. I became interested in medical research through dealing with my own life threatening peanut and nut allergies. I am currently undergoing a new form of treatment that has literally saved my life. In the few years I have been in this program I have only become more and more interested in the world of medical research. I love biology, chemistry, and all things science. Over the past few years, I have noticed the amount of diseases that are not being studied due to lack of funding and awareness. My goal with NextGen Med is to educate and empower the next generation to learn and engage with these underfunded diseases so that we as a community can work to eradicate them.
