Frontotemporal Dementia
Frontotemporal Dementia (FTD) refers to a group of brain disorders that primarily affect the frontal and temporal lobes, leading to changes in personality, behavior, and language abilities. Symptoms can include impulsivity, apathy, and difficulties with speech and comprehension. FTD is often misdiagnosed as a psychiatric condition due to its behavioral manifestations. There are no approved treatments to stop or slow its progression, but therapies can help manage symptoms and improve quality of life. Early diagnosis is essential for planning care and accessing support services.
