Multiple System Atrophy
Multiple System Atrophy (MSA) is a rare neurological disorder that causes the progressive degeneration of autonomic functions such as blood pressure regulation, along with motor symptoms resembling Parkinson’s disease. Symptoms include impaired balance, muscle rigidity, and problems with bladder and bowel control. MSA progresses rapidly, and while there is no cure, treatments like medications, physical therapy, and support for autonomic symptoms can improve patient comfort. Research into the disease’s underlying causes continues to search for more effective interventions.
